Thanks (谢谢)

In this graded reader story, you will practice reading 谢谢 (xièxiè), the Mandarin word for “Thanks.” A more formal version is 谢谢 你 (xièxiè nǐ), which means “Thank You”. In normal conversation you’ll most often just say 谢谢. This story is a very easy read using only basic HSK 1 words such as 男孩 (nánhái), 老师 (Lǎoshī), and 不客气 (bù kèqi). Start by reading with the assisted Pinyin and English, then read the Chinese only, and finish by practicing listening to each sentence. Repeat this until you are able to easily read and listen to this story and understand it fully.
