Beautiful Day (漂亮 的 一天)

In this story we practice using and speaking 出去 (chūqù) – it has a sound similar in English to “Choo Chew”. Practice reading it aloud with a focus on the tones and the sounding of the two characters.

有 一天， 有 五 个 朋友 在 电脑 上 玩。 下午 天气 很 好， 大家 都 想 出去 外面 看看。 他们 走 到 外面， 看到 很多 快乐 的 人。 大家 都 在 喜欢 很 好 的 天气。 那 是 漂亮 的 一天。 {Play}

他们 一起 去 游泳 和 跑步， 玩 得 很 快乐。 他们 觉得 这 天气 对 他们 的 身体 非常 好。 玩 完 后， 五 个朋友 都 想 吃饭。 因为 天气 很 好， 他们 都 想 在 外面 吃饭。 他们 找 到 了 一家 饭店， 坐 在 外面 准备 吃饭。 他们 吃饭 和 说话， 觉得 很 快乐。 他们 想 以后 也 一起 出去 吃饭。 {Play}

First Paragraph:

有 一天，有 五 个 朋友 在 电脑 上 玩。   {Play}

Yǒu yī tiān, yǒu wǔ gè péngyǒu zài diànnǎo shàng wán.  

One day, five friends were playing on the computer.  

下午 天气 很好，大家 都 想 出去 外面 看看。   {Play}

Xiàwǔ tiānqì hěn hǎo, dàjiā dōu xiǎng chūqù wàimiàn kànkan.  

In the afternoon, the weather was very good, and everyone wanted to go outside and have a look.  

他们 走 到 外面，看到 很多 快乐 的 人。   {Play}

Tāmen zǒu dào wàimiàn, kàndào hěnduō kuàilè de rén. 

They walked outside and saw many happy people.  

大家 都 在 喜欢 很 好 的 天气。   {Play}

Dàjiā dōu zài xǐhuān hěnhǎo de tiānqì.  

Everyone was enjoying the very good weather.  

那 是 漂亮 的 一天。   {Play}

Nà shì piàoliang de yī tiān. 

That was a beautiful day.

Second Paragraph:

他们 一起 去 游泳 和 跑步，玩 得 很 快乐。   {Play}

Tāmen yīqǐ qù yóuyǒng hé pǎobù, wán de hěn kuàilè. 

They went swimming and running together and had a lot of fun.  

他们 觉得 这 天气 对 他们 的 身体 非常 好。   {Play}

Tāmen juéde zhè tiānqì duì tāmen de shēntǐ fēicháng hǎo.  

They think the weather is very good for their health.  

玩 完 后，五 个 朋友 都 想 吃饭。   {Play}

Wán wán hòu, wǔ gè péngyǒu dōu xiǎng chīfàn.  

After playing, all five friends wanted to eat.  

因为 天气 很好，他们 都 想 在 外面 吃饭。   {Play}

Yīnwèi tiānqì hěnhǎo, tāmen dōu xiǎng zài wàimiàn chīfàn. 

Because the weather was very good, they all wanted to eat outside.  

他们 找 到 了 一家 饭店，坐 在 外面 准备 吃饭。   {Play}

Tāmen zhǎo dào le yī jiā fàndiàn, zuò zài wàimiàn zhǔnbèi chīfàn.  

They found a restaurant, sat outside, and got ready to eat.  

他们 吃饭 和 说话，觉得 很 快乐。   {Play}

Tāmen chīfàn hé shuōhuà, juéde hěn kuàilè.  

They ate and talked, feeling very happy.  

他们 想 以后 也 一起 出去 吃饭。   {Play}

Tāmen xiǎng yǐhòu yě yīqǐ chūqù chīfàn.  

They wanted to eat out together again in the future.  

Third Paragraph:

他们 吃 完 饭 后，在 外面 玩 了 一点 时间。   {Play}

Tāmen chī wán fàn hòu, zài wàimiàn wán le yīdiǎn shíjiān. 

After finishing their meal, they played outside for a while.  

五 个 朋友 一起 回家，想 下次 再 一起 出去 玩。   {Play}

Wǔ gè péngyǒu yīqǐ huíjiā, xiǎng xiàcì zài yīqǐ chūqù wán.  

The five friends went home together, looking forward to hanging out again next time.
